Cyprus: End neigh for online gambling
29 Nov 2010
CYPRUS -- A bill to outlaw online gambling in Cyprus hinges on a nod from the European Commission, according to The Cyprus Mail.
The Cyprus bill, if approved, will ban online roulette, poker and slots, but permit sports betting shops, the report said.
The bill will also establish a gaming board which will regulate gambling in Cyprus, The Cyprus Mail reported.
It is believed that 600 online casinos may be operating in Cyprus because of a lack of legislation, the report noted.
