Curiosity hasn't found Martians, but this slot is inspired by plant life from Venus
23 Aug 2012
While Curiosity hasn't found (and isn't expected to find) any life on Mars, perhaps we should be sending our spacecraft to another planet. At least that's what the new 7Red online slot It Came from Venus, would have us believe.
This five-reel, 30-payling video slot features a skinny farmer in overalls and a mesh-backed cap and a huge alien that resembles a Venus flytrap. At the beginning of play, a video shows a meteor heading towards the farmer's field, and the alien emerges after it lands.
The slots features a bonus round, triggered when three helicopters appear anywhere on the reels. In the bonus round, the military confiscates the plant, and the farmer jumps into the back of a truck to save it. You select crates to reveal what's inside, either credits or the plant. You keep picking crates until you find the plant, when you return to the farm.
The game also features a free spin round, triggered after the player collects three food sacks in the center reel. During the free spins, the food sack symbol becomes a sticky wild which can be used for multiple spins.
It Came from Venus also has random wilds with multipliers of 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x, and a scatter "Do Not Trespass" symbol, which pays as much as 10 times the triggering spin when five of the symbols appear on the reels.
In addition to traditional line wins, players can also cash in on stacked collapsing wins if they bet on all 30 lines. When a reel has three of the same symbols in a column, the player is rewarded with a win equal to the win for netting three of that same symbol in the normal 30 paylines. When this happens, they symbols in that column will collapse, revealing new symbols and giving the player more chances to win.
It Came from Venus is an exciting game with lots of great video content and multiple opportunities to win. If this review has peaked your Curiosity, fly on over to 7Red and give it a spin.
