Court rejects case against Turning Stone

NEW YORK -- As reported by the Syracuse Post-Standard: "The Oneida Indian Nation cheered a federal court's rejection of a challenge to its gaming compact this week.
"The case dates to 1995, when former Gov. George Pataki sued the nation to stop it from operating 'slotless slot' machines at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona. In the suit, the state asked the court to prevent further use or expansion of the Instant Multi-Game machines until the state approved them. Tuesday's decision by District Court Judge Lawrence Kahn denied and dismissed the state's appeal.
