Century Casinos eyes South African company

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Century Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNTY; Vienna Stock Exchange: CNTY) announced today that the Company has joined UK based London & Regional Properties ("L&R") in a process that could lead to an offer to acquire all the issued share capital of South African casino and resort company Peermont Global Limited ("PGL").

Century and L&R have made an initial proposal, subject to a number of pre-conditions, including due diligence, to the Board of PGL, to acquire the entire issued share capital of PGL. There can be no assurances that a firm offer will be made. A firm offer by Century and L&R, if made, will be subject to certain conditions, including PGL shareholder approval and certain regulatory approvals, including, inter alia, the approval of the various gambling boards in the provinces in which PGL operates. Century is already licensed in the two South African provinces of Western Cape and Kwazulu Natal.

In South Africa, PGL owns and operates the Emperor's Palace Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort in Johannesburg, the Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club in Secunda, the Frontier Inn and Casino in Bethlehem, the four Tusk Casino Resorts in Mmabatho, Empangeni, Klerksdorp and Thohoyandou, as well as the Mondazur Resort Estate Hotel in San Lameer. In Gaborone, Botswana, PGL owns and operates the Grand Palm Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort.

L&R, owned by Ian and Richard Livingstone, is one of the largest private property companies in Europe with investments, developments and business interests exceeding euro 8 billion in a number of countries, including the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Poland and South Africa. L&R's property portfolio includes 60 hotels (including the Park Lane Hilton in London, UK) and the recently acquired V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, South Africa (with Dubai-based Istithmar for about euro 600 million). L&R also has substantial business relationships with various UK government entities including the Ministry of Defence.
