Caroline Wozniacki match to be investigated after betting surge

LUXEMBOURG -- A WTA Tour match has attracted the attention of Tennis authorities after player Caroline Wozniacki's father made comments picked up by a microphone that led to a surge of betting on her opponent Anne Kremer to win according to The Guardian newspaper last week.
The newspaper reported that her father Piotr Wozniacki advised her in Polish to retire because a hamstring injury meant she couldn't play the next round anyway.
The information will be passed to the Tennis Integrity Unit, while the newspaper report suggested the most likely outcome may be a fine for "lack of effort."
