Canadians gamble more, revenue up

OTTAWA, Canada -- A Statistics Canada report shows gambling revenue was up in 2009, The Montreal Gazette reported.
Revenue increased to $13.75 billion, up from $13.67 billion in 2008, the Stats Can report said.
Despite the revenue increase, the actual GDP from gambling has decreased, The Montreal Gazette noted.
Several Canadian provinces have already indicated they will embrace online gambling.
