BSkyB to buy 365 Media Group

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by Bloomberg: "British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc, the pay-television operator chaired by Rupert Murdoch, agreed to buy 365 Media Group Plc for as much as 103 million pounds (US$201 million) to expand its presence in online sports betting.

"BSkyB offered to pay 68 pence in cash for each 365 Media share, the companies said today in a statement. The offer from Isleworth, England-based BSkyB is a 6.3 percent premium to 365 Media's closing price yesterday of 64 pence.

"A purchase of Leeds, England-based 365 Media bolsters BSkyB's online offerings in sports gaming and betting. 365 Media, which has more than 9 million monthly users at sites including SportingLife.com and Planet-Rugby.com, has mobile distribution deals for its content, which supports BSkyB's approach to delivering content…"
