Betfair move to Gibraltar gambling licence

LONDON, England AND GIBRALTAR -- In a move to avoid UK tax on profit Betfair is shifting to operate under a Gibraltar licence, according to The Guardian.

The company will however still pay the horse racing levy, the report explained.

Betfair cited technology platform consolidation advantages and tax savings as reasons for the licence move, The Guardian reported.
