5,000 arrests in Asian gambling crackdown

CHINA, MALAYSIA, SINGAPORE, AND THAILAND -- It was both a month of football and a month of gambling busts, that resulted in 5,000 arrests, The Guardian reports.
Interpol also seized $10m in the multiple country crackdown, The Guardian reported.
The operation was co-ordinated from France, with 800 gambling dens raided in the timely period of extensive betting on the World Cup, The Guardian said.
